At our club in middle Georgia we continue to spread whole corn on the trails and fields to try and hold the turkeys until the season opens March 20. This is the first turkey season on this club and we don’t know what to expect, but we have seen good turkey signs during deer season and have high hopes for turkey season. On our 450 acres we will have spread about a 1000 lbs of corn by season opening. Sounds like a lot but it is always gone when we check back a week later. Sure would like to know how much is being eaten by turkeys vs song birds and varmits.
